Almost all projects we undertake are accompanied by tight timelines. Our experience has shown that an optimized schedule that carefully plans for internal resources and lines up outside services well ahead of time is only part of the solution. Just as important, we address risk-reduction at the very beginning, a practice that results in a solid design architecture, clear specifications, and the selection of major components. The bottom line is that a design implemented correctly the first time always results in the shortest overall development schedule.
Case study – Industrial Manufacturing Tool
A customer called in a bind, saying they needed a circuit designed and schematic captured, boards made, and firmware written and tested in only 8 weeks. The design would require a processor, firmware and a set of analog and digital inputs and outputs. Odic provided a proposal, complete with costs and anticipated schedule, within hours of the request. Odic successfully met the tight deadline by delivering two boards by the 6th week, even though a complete week was lost while the customer put the project on hold in order to change the requirements specification.
