About Odic

Odic Incorporated was established in 1991 for the sole purpose of designing electronics and writing firmware for high tech companies in the Massachusetts area.  Over the past eleven years we have worked with more than 100 companies, and not all of them ended up being in Massachusetts.  Our customers have been a fun mix of large well-established corporations, small just-off-the-ground startups, and everything else in the middle.

Odic's employees:

We have slowly and carefully added employees over the years, helping us take on an ever-increasing demand for our skills.  We currently handle about a dozen projects at a time.  Although we each have unique skills, all of the engineers working at Odic have one thing in common: we love engineering.  There's no management track here, just technical work, and lots of it.

The Odic name:

Many people ask us what "Odic" stands for.  Odic is a word, not an acronym.  It is the adjective form of "ode", which is a song of praise.  So Odic means "like a song of praise".  This is why the Odic logo contains a music staff.

This name reflects the religious background and musical interests of Odic's original founders, and in their conviction that one cannot separate one's ethical beliefs from day-to-day work issues.  True to our origin, we still believe that our personal lives and families come first, even at work.
