Advantages Of Using Odic

We are an established firm, not a clearinghouse for independent consultants.  We can offer many advantages over either hiring independents or gearing up for in-house design...

Why we have such a good track record
Why we are better than "temp agencies"
Why we are better than independent consultants
Questions about outsourcing?

Our Years of Experience
Odic's staff of experienced engineers covers many areas, and we can pool our knowledge for your benefit.  Because we have been asked to solve problems in a wide variety of fields, we may be able to find solutions with a fresh perspective for your design project.  We’re flexible and versatile; we are used to such design problems and can supply any piece of the electronics design puzzle.

Cost Effectiveness
Payment only for the work done – for results!
No permanent investment in staff people, space, facilities or tools.

We set up Odic so we can concentrate on our work without the typical corporate distractions. Since we only charge for time spent working productively on your project, our billable hours are all productive hours. Average in your own employees' non-productive time over the course of a year - you'll see where some of the savings come from. Consider also that if you plug us into a project only when needed, and forget about us the rest of the time, you'll have a virtual engineering team available year round that only affects your budget when you have actual work. That's the way Odic saves you money.

We're Flexible
If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it is that none of our customers' needs are the same. The result is that we've become quite flexible. For example, we can work at your premises, at ours, or a combination of the two. Odic offers flexible billing: fixed price, hourly, or royalty-based.  We have various skill levels available - with a corresponding rate structure.  And we can enter your project at any phase and help when and where you need it most.

Fast Learners
Plainly put, we come up to speed very quickly. We've been put into so many different situations, we know what questions to ask and where to look for answers. You can expect us to contribute to your project from the day we start.

Ongoing Support
Continuing support as needed after the project is completed
The project might be over, and we're no longer "on the clock", but we’re not really going anywhere. We'll be here when you need support for the work we've done, and we'll of course apply everything we know when you ask us back for the next job. We aim for repeat business.

Archiving Service
"What if I need a simple change to something 2 or 5 years from now?"  This has happened quite a lot, and that’s why we have a portable 800 phone number. When projects are done, we box up our work and clearly label it. We also document such things as build processes for software projects, and how to set up an emulator for hardware design projects. We comment our code and generate documentation as we go, assuming all along we'll be asked to revisit the work 5 years from now. Don’t forget also that Odic consists of permanent employees, not transient contractors.

Confidentiality
Many of our customers are working with new, proprietary technologies.  We'll be happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement with you before we even discuss the project.  We have an excellent reputation in the industry for ethical business practices, and we will be very sensitive to your proprietary information.

Our Knowledge Is Yours
We are pleased to share with you 100% of what we learn on your project.  First, we acknowledge that everything we do is yours. Heck, you paid for it. Second, we’re proud of the work we do and we’re more than happy to show it off to you. And third, we want your repeat business. Who’s going to hire back someone less than forthcoming about their work?
